Personal Experiences with Rape Culture

Ok, so, I’ve had this sitting in my inbox for like 3 days and I’m only just now getting to it because I still don’t have a good answer which is terrible.  I don’t actually know of any such blogs and I really wish I did.  I’ve been searching for the past 3 days and I didn’t come up with anything which is even worse.  I try to follow lots of different blogs so that I can get perspectives from people who have different realities than I do - like Women of Color - because I really don’t want to be speaking for people who can speak for themselves.  

The fetishization of Asian women is a serious problem in rape culture and thanks to imperialist tourism the sex trafficking, forced sex work, and sex trades in and from Asian countries is a huge huge huge deal not to mention the fact that, as this poster mentions, all of these heinous stereotypes are reinforced in both porn and popular culture (Barney Stinson’s favorite is “half-Asian chicks” as though they’re not even people, for instance).  It’s something that we need to be talking about right along side everything else we talk about, it’s something that needs serious attention.

Beyond that I know how important the sharing is/can be and not having that option is also a huge problem.  So, followers, if you know of any blogs like this you can suggest PLEASE do so and if you have any submissions that I could post here I’d love have them.  In the meantime I’ll make a more concentrated effort to actively seek out stuff that fits this issue as well.  Hopefully we can help shine a light on this problem.
